Corporate Folly

VISA
P.O. Box 2091
Memphis, TN 38101-2091

Dear sir/Madam:

Recently I cancelled my VISA card due to what I thought was a fraudulent charge. My old card was due to expire 6/11. Guess what? I just received my new card which also expires 6/11! How dumb is that? Why not send me a new one that expires a year or so from now? Now you will need to send me a new one in a couple weeks. Does your boss need to borrow my M.B.A. in order to know how to be more efficient?

One more thing I’ve been meaning to write about. In the note that came with the new card that expires in a few weeks there is this comment, “The enclosed card must be signed in order to be valid.” I never sign my cards because it is a serious security breach. If someone were to steal my cards there is my signature for them to copy. Instead I write, “Check photo ID” on the back. If any one steals it they can’t make any purchases in person. And as we know most criminals are stupid and would try to use my card only to get it impounded.

Sincerely yours,

Randall Sexton
